Biography

With a remarkable career spanning over thirty years, Dr. Mohamed Saleh has made significant contributions to computer science, higher education, and public service in Egypt and abroad. Currently, he serves as the Acting Vice President for Planning and Global Affairs at Badya University, having previously held the same position at Nahda University.

In academia, Dr. Saleh has held leadership positions, including serving as the Dean of the School of Computer Science at Nahda University in Egypt since January 2019, and as a Professor at the School of Engineering, Helwan University. These roles highlight his dedication to advancing education and research in computer science.

Dr. Saleh obtained his MSc in Computer Science from the Rochester Institute of Technology in NY and his PhD from the University of Connecticut, establishing a solid foundation for his extensive research and teaching career.

He has shown a commitment to international educational exchange and collaboration through his service as a board member of the Fulbright Commission.

Furthermore, his time as Under-Secretary for Cultural Affairs and Scientific Missions at the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, along with his role as a Cultural Attaché at the Egyptian Embassy in Washington DC, demonstrate his significant contributions to Egypt’s cultural and educational diplomacy.

As an ICT consultant, Dr. Saleh has played a crucial role in incorporating information technology into Egypt’s educational and financial sectors. He has provided expert guidance to the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research and other key governmental institutions.

Specializing in Artificial Intelligence and High-Performance Computing, Dr. Saleh has held important positions as a Senior Researcher in collaborative US-Egypt research projects. His involvement with esteemed research institutions, including IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Argonne National Laboratory, and the Cairo Microsoft Innovation Center, highlights his active engagement in state-of-the-art technological research.
